Living Art Dreamcatcher Workshop
Are you ready to welcome more whimsy into your life? Have you been curious about sustainable nature art? This workshop offers a new perspective to the traditional dreamcatcher.
Join us for a unique and immersive experience where art and nature come together, led by the talented Eily Aurora. This inspiring workshop invites you to craft your very own living art dreamcatcher using branches from trees and bushes, fostering a deeper connection with nature while igniting your creative spirit.
Originated with the Ojibwe (Chippewa) people of North America, The Dreamcatcher has travelled around the world and is a symbol of hope and protection.
Eily brings her 25 plus years sitting with Indigenous communities in ceremony and receiving traditional teachings. It is an honor for her to be blessed to share the dreamcatcher and its meanings with you. In the last 10 years, she has played with and created living art with red willow or Dog Wood Branches, sharing this magic with hundreds around Calgary.
Not only do these dreamcatchers help protect us from bad dreams and negative influences, once in water, they come alive and even bloom their small white flowers. Some last long enough to grow roots and can be planted back into the earth, thus completing the cycle of sacred reciprocity with nature.
This immersive workshop also includes:
🎵 Centering Meditation: Begin with a guided meditation set to Eily’s soothing harp music.
🌿 Cultural Insights: Learn about the Ojibwe dreamcatcher tradition and its profound symbolism.
🎨 Creative Expression: Design and decorate your dreamcatcher with sustainable materials, creating a personal and meaningful piece of living art.
🌱 Care Instructions: Discover how to nurture and sustain your living dreamcatcher for long-lasting beauty.
Whether you’re an experienced artist or new to this art form, this workshop offers a meaningful way to express yourself and connect with the natural world.
Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the harmony of art, culture, and nature in a truly special and memorable way!
